We did a lab with a pressure sensor. Our purpose was to find out if the kpa changes when you push or pull the syringe at different speeds. (slow, medium, and fast). We recorded our data by making a table. We found out that when your pushing the syringe in, the faster you make it go, the higher the kpa. When pulling the syringe out, we recorded that it stayed the same kpa.

GAS QUIZ

1. What is the state in which matter changes in both shape and volume called?
2. TRUE/FALSE- An example of gas is helium
3. TRUE/FALSE- Gas can only fill a container.
4. What word is used to describe gases that are usually found as liquids?
5. Some examples of this word are .....or.......
6. YES OR NO>>> Do the atoms or molecules in a gas mover fast enough to break away completely from one another?
7. YES OR NO>>> Does the amount of empty space in a gas stay the same?
8. TRUE OR FALSO>>> Gas molecules are always evenly destributed to the atmosphere.
9. What law states that for a fixed amount of gas at a constant temperature, the volume of a gas decreases as its pressure increases?
10. What is the amount of force exerted on a given area called?
11. TRUE/FALSE>>> Beach balls have a greater pressure than a basketball because the lesser number of particules of gas are farther apart so they collide with the inside of the ball at a slower rate.
12. TRUE/FALSE>>> Charles's law states that for a fixed amount of gas at a constant pressure, the volume of the gas increases as its temperature increases.

Why do you think the boats floated?
The purpose of this lab was to compare the mass and volume and find out what was responsible for why one clay boat floated and one clay boat sank.
We think the reason the frequency of the boats is larger when it floated is because the water displacement is ten grams and the clay is ten grams. Therefore the clay boat floated. The other boats sank because it is more than ten grams but it only gave a ten gram water displaceement. The amount of clay at the bottom of the boat affects if the boat floats or sinks. Therefore we need make the bottom of the boats bowl shaped so it can displace more water.

Our data shows, mass and volume are related when using one specific liquid. We tested 3 different liquids and compared their mass and volume. We did this by graphing our data. We used 3 different colors to represent the 3 different liquids and saw that there was a positive correlation for all. Therefore, mass and volume are related.

The mass is conserved. The average of the difference of the masses and the mass of water and alcohol mix is -0.1. Group two even had the difference of zero. The average of the sum of masses is 46. The average of the masses of the water and alcohol mixed is also 46.

The Metro Squad
One day Nanoman was traveling, while his wife Microwoman stayed home with their child, they named Nicrochild. Nicrochild grew so fast and big, they changed his name to Milliman. Nanoman always wore a shirt that said one billionth. Nanoman was traveling along and he saw a sign for Metroland. He went in to Metroland and got lost into the crowd of all the huge people. Microwoman found out and was devastated because her dear husband lost in Metroland. Microwoman had a bracelet that said one thousandth. They sent out the Metro squad to find Nanoman. Kilowoman was the leader of the squad because she was the biggest. While they were looking for Nanoman, Decadude accidently stepped on Nanoman and squished him. Eventually, Kilowoman found Nanoman limping on the ground. She could find him because of her eye power, which was one hundred billion times better then everyone else’s. When she found him, she quickly called Dr. Hecto who fixed him up by giving him a cast and putting him in a wheelchair. Right after that, the metro squad was sent off to investigate another crime. The volume measurer was missing. They had to find how find many meters away it was. It converted into 500 decameters away.
